Beta One

Posted: 5 years ago

Hi everyone -

It’s been a busy week, and I’ve bumped the version label from alpha 4 to beta 1.

So, what does that mean? It means that things kinda work, for some value of work. The underlying components – the librarian, crawlers, classfiers, personalization engine and web application – are solid enough that they’ve survived a 10x increase in the catalog (to about 1.2 million documents at the moment.) Different things break at different scales, so this has helped me debug quite a few things.

The main benefit it offers you as a customer right now is that you can sign in with your Twitter account and get a nice clean, classified and tagged index of the links coming through your Twitter feed. It’s step one on the way to having a full-fledged newsfeed engine for the open web.

So, thrillseekers: please give it a shot and let me know what you think. Things might explode, but it should basically work.

Thanks,

Jason
